Awareness Day on Gender Equality in Bulgaria

Students presented their work and experiences in front of other project students and teachers

On December 25th (International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) a Croatian  NGO Ženska udruga Izvor organised an event to mark this day. The whole Erasmus group attended the event that was organised in the city library. We watched a documentary and had a discussion after it.

ITALY

Italian students started dealing with the topic about Gender Equality in October within the Erasmus+ Project activities at school.

They met once a week in the afternoon project meeting to carry out the activities related to this topic.

Firstly they discussed about the meaning of Gender Equality then they analyzed the most relevant steps in the women’s achievement from an historic point of view during the 20th century in Italy.

They recalled the women’s issues in favour of gender equality and the achievements of women’s rights movement.

They created a timeline with the most important events that marked the new rising perception of the role of women in our society

After that they debated about the perception of gender equality in their school, mainly made up of male population. The debate resulted in a set of questions that they organized in an online survey applied to a 25% of students in our school ( 230 over around 950 students  ) whose results are in the PP presentation “GENDER EQUALITY AND THE WOMEN’S RIGHTS IN 1900s Italy “

Moreover Italian students participated in the awareness day of Violence against Women held in our school on 25th November, within the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women designed by the UN General Assembly.

In December they watched two movies: “The Desert Flower” and “Enough” which offered the food for thoughts in the debate held later at school about the importance of guaranteeing respect and equal opportunities to women.
